Dogs Aged: 9 months and up.

Wednesdays: May 8, 15th, 22

Saturdays: May 11 and 18th

🕒 Times:

Wednesdays: 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

📍 Location: Rogers Lakewood Park, Valparaiso

You May Purchase Single or Multiple Training Sessions at a time.

🚗 Free Parking Available on Wednesdays. $3 Park Entrance Fee on Saturdays.

🏞️ Meeting Point: First parking lot on the right, near or outside the 1st pavilion shelter.

🐶 Leash and Learn Workshop Itinerary -

5-10 min: Introduction of your dog and getting to know each other's training histories and goals.

6:00 PM - 6:30 PM (Wednesdays) or 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM (Saturdays)

Learn loose leash walking skills and safely socialize your dog on leash near others! I will help and address dogs who jump and bark excessively. The workshops are geared to strengthen your dog's confidence and improve basic obedience commands around new distractions.

6:30 PM - 6:45 PM (Wednesdays) or 9:30 AM - 9:45 AM (Saturdays): Scenic group dog walk around the picturesque Lake (which offers paddleboat rentals, small boat cruises and fishing pole rentals btw!)

6:45 PM - 7:00 PM (Wednesdays) or 9:45 AM - 10:00 AM (Saturdays): Your specific dog training questions are welcomed at our open Q&A session towards the end of every workshop with Lisa the Traveling Dog Trainer

💡 Behavior Focused

- Each workshop covers topics such as how to read canine body language, effective communication, and building confidence in your dog's social skills! Led by Lisa, a former veterinary assistant, multi-certified dog trainer, and master's level behavior analyst student at Purdue University.

-All proceeds support K9 Safe Haven Rescue, a new foster-based rescue founded by (me!) Lisa the Traveling Dog Trainer aimed at providing veterinary care and finding forever homes for dogs in need.

Payment option 3 PayPal: We add a service charge of $5 for PayPal. Scan the direct QR Code shown here to pay for sessions, adding the $5 transaction fee (PayPal charges us) per session:

 --Simply add the date you plan to attend in the Venmo or PayPal memo.

An intern will be recording the events for educational purposes and marketing content.

BEFORE SIGNING UP, PLEASE NOTE:

-These workshops are NOT intended for dogs who have severe behavior challenges - we are happy to help privately at another place and time for severe cases.

-No refunds for events.

-Dogs must be on non-retractable leashes at all times in the hour and respect boundaries of the other dogs and participants.

--Persons 18 and over welcomed, minors under 18 require accompany of 1 adult over 18.

-Must have a dog to attend.

📧 Proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination of pet in attendance is required via email to lisa@k9safehavenrescue.com within 48 hours of the event to secure your spot.

🐕 $50 per dog; additional $10 charge applies for an additional dog per household (3 dogs per household max).

-Reschedule for bad weather will be determined 24 hours before the event!

(Weather reschedule date if need is Wednesday, May 29 and Saturday May 25)
